We were deeply saddened to hear of "Mama" DeLaurentis's passing.After God made my mom and "Mrs.D." he broke the mold.Whenever I was in DeLaurentis's Pizzeria( which was quite often) I knew I had a second mom looking out for me.I still remember the Chicken Cacciatore she made for Tony's bachelor party in the back room of the bar. I can almost taste it now. Paul, Tony, and Angelo made the best pizzas in Yonkers,but Mama's pies were by far the best.I still remember the time some of us brought her the ingredients for a Polish pizza, and she made it. Of course, it was better than the Polish pizza that a bar on Elm St. was known for. Yes, it was sad to hear the news, but I take comfort in knowing that she is looking after all her family and friends from above( and I hope all of us Ash Street Ashcans and others who had the privilege of knowing her.)Hard-working, gentle, caring, with a wonderful smile is how I'll remember her. She was one-of-a-kind.
