Biography

Rose M. Lore, a lifelong New Rochelle resident, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her New Rochelle home with her family by her side and in the gentle, compassionate care of Dadrian Gunther and Kimmie. She was 95 years old.

Born in New Rochelle, NY to the late Luigi and the late Angelina Grispino Veltri on March 7, 1916, Rose worked as a wiring assembler for various electronics manufacturers and then retired from Hygeniol, a powder puff manufacturer, in New Rochelle.

She was the dear wife of Sam for 74 years and the beloved mother of Samuel, Jr., Frank (and Josephine) and Angela Lore-Barone. She was also the loving grandmother of Patricia, Joanne, Colleen, Lisa, Patricia, Michelle, Charles and Christopher and the cherished great grandmother of 10.  She was the dear sister of Marion Doria, Florence Beninatti, Gloria Mattesi, and the late James, Joseph, Frank, Angelo, and John Veltri, Antoinette D'Onofrio, Jennie Stanton, Yolanda Consolo and Josephine Limiero.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, 280 Washington Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Interment will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery in New Rochelle. 

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at F. RUGGIERO & SONS, Inc., 732 Yonkers Avenue - Yonkers, NY 10704 - (914) 375-1400

Rest in peace dear Aunt Rose. Now you are with your best friend (my Grandma) Mary again. My condolences to Uncle Sam and all the family.

Grandma was the sweetest person I know!! She was a big part of my life and made a huge impact on the way I am as a person!! I remember sitting around the kitchen table every Sunday almost every week as a kid for sunday ronis with Lisa and Patty, Charlie and Chris, and of course Michelle la Belle!! Those were definately the best days ever!! Grandma was such a loving and wonderful person and she loved to hold my hand! She was a hand holder for sure!! She is going to be missed but the memories of her will always be among my favorites!! I know she is looking at us all smiling and is with My Mom, Aunte Norma, her brothers and sisters and Great Grandma Veltri!! RIP Grandma and I will always love you!!
