Paul W. Meyer, Sr. of Bronx, NY, a retired manager for A&P/Food Emporium, died suddenly July 19, 2010 at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. He was 79 years old.
Born in New Rochelle, NY, he was a son of the late Gustus and the late Josephine Marco Meyer. Paul's two sisters and two brothers died earlier. He is the beloved husband of Anne (nee Mammato) and the dear father of Debra Zabilski (and husband Ron) and Paul W. Meyer, Jr. He was the loving grandfather of Lori Frayler (and husband Michael), Ronald Zabilski, Jr. (and wife Christina) and Joshua Zabilski. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. It was just days ago that Paul attended the wedding of his grandson Ronald and he was excitedly awaitng the birth of his first great grandchild, since his granddaughter Lori is due any day. His death is a shock to all his family.
A funeral Mass will be offered 9:45 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Barnabas Church, East 241st Street and Martha Avenue, Bronx, NY. Paul will be laid to rest at Holy Mount Cemetery, California Road, Tuckahoe, NY.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at F. RUGGIERO & SONS, Inc., 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704.
