Death Away From Home

What if a death occurs away from home?

With the changing of times, families tend to move away from their ancestors. Often times, families tend to go back to their roots, whether it be for a family burial plot or family house of worship. If this is the case, we can make this process as seamless as possible. If you DO NOT plan on having a wake in the city/ state where your loved one has died, you should contact OUR funeral home first. By doing so, we can contact an independent funeral home in the city where your loved one is. Funeral Homes will give us a discounted rate allowing us to make this as cost effective for you as possible. Our associate funeral home will take care of all of the necessary paperwork and authorizations, as well as a means of transportation for your loved one. We will take care of this process for you, to lessen the burden for you and your family.

What is the method of transportation my loved one will travel?

The partnering funeral homes will make the determination as to how your loved one will travel. Our funeral home will work with the associated funeral home to either book a flight on a commercial airline or allow us to travel via Car to take your loved one into our care. This process will be completed as soon as we receieve the necessary information to file the death certificate and to retrieve a burial/ transmit permit which will allow your loved one to cross state/county lines. Rest assured we will take your loved one into our care as soon as the municipality in which the death occurred allows us to do so.
